We, Kari and Mathilde, are very excited to invite you to a day workshop with Gaga and Voice embodiment practice!
Together we will guide and hold space for you to dance, create contact with your body and voice and potentially discover how the voice is part of your body and your dance.

What is Voice Embodiment?
This work is about embodying the voice, about voice as something which emerges from the body and vibrates in the body. It is a process of undoing and releasing to open for a more free access to the full range of our instrument. The voice is a gate to our emotional body. By gently contacting hidden parts of ourselves through somatic work, we gain more fullness and richness in our voice expression. We will explore how voice moves us and how movement opens the voice. We will work experientially with somatic tasks, including movement and touch, abstract sound and singing, alone, in pairs and as a group.
It is not necessary to have any musical experience or to feel comfortable with singing. We will start gently. The workshop is for you who are interested in getting to know and trust your voice and want to play and explore.
What is Gaga?
Gaga classes are predicated on a deep activation of the body and physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multisensory, physically challenging experience. While many instructions are imbued with rich imagery, the research of Gaga is fundamentally physical, insisting on a specific process of embodiment. Inside this shared research and on top of clear forms, the improvisational nature of the exploration enables each participant’s deeply personal connection with Gaga.
Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening the body and adding flexibility, stamina, agility, and skills including coordination and efficiency while stimulating the senses and the imagination.
